As far as walking in the woods you are right about that cause you would run through the woods to get away from the kids with the BB guns....problem was that Burger King was on the other side of the woods so all they did is chase you to it. Justin - I don't know what to say. The Bowie has a 9 inch blade so you were attacking a 4 inch limb? Learn about levers and fulcrum points. Much easier to work with the wood than against it. Easy to break a 4 inch limb by inserting one end between to solid points (two close trees for example) then applying leverage to break a section off.

Why on earth would you ever strike your knife with a hammer? That's just asking to damage the knife.

When you baton wood, do so WITH the grain not across it. Remember, work with the wood not against it.
