Just curious, do kids still play this game? When did they stop?

Probably stopped about the time tag was outlawed in schools.
Remember "Pom, Pom, pull away;" & "Red Rover, Red Rover?"

Red Rover was great! I never had the wind knocked out of me like I did playing that!

BB gun wars were awesome. Dangerous as all get out but awesome none-the-less. I'm surprised one of us didn't lose an eye. I haven't even heard of anyone playing mumbletypeg since I was a kid.

Learned to ride my bike no-handed, just so I could cock and shoot that BB gun, like shooting from horse back........these day you would go to jail.

I think these days wanting to proclaim youself king of the mountain and possibly having to wrest control of a huge snowpile from other children is a clear indication that you have to be shipped off to the school psychologist. Signs and omens people, these are dark days we're living in indeed.
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"
Was staying with the cousins one summer and we were bored so we came up with a game called wrench on a rope. All you need is a 12ft, piece of rope and a 12in. cresent wrench. Tie the wrench to the rope, pick someone to be "it" and your ready to play. "It" takes the rope and starts spinning around in a circle til the wrench is airborne. The other players then try to run in to the circle and tag "it". The game is over when a cousin is unconscious or drunk uncle Buddy gets his tooth knocked out.
A man full of grits is a man full of peace.
See? I knew alcohol was involved in that game. I'm dumb but I ain't stupid.

How many teeth does Uncle Buddy have left?
