    Default Two Wolves

    TWO WOLVES

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all."

"One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego."

"The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed.."
A mouse ate a hole in my lumpy chair.

Keep in mind the problem may be extremely complicated, though the "Fix" is often simple...

I was wondering if this would come up while posting this. Balance is important.

Natives here called it "white and red", White being good. Their clans, villages, and cities were aligned with one or the other, and usually a white clan or village had a red leader, and vice versa. It was a seeking of the balance as well, to be aligned one way and lead the other. The leaders had no control over the people, but could use their influence to persuade the people in a direction. The "governing" was done BY the people, all of their own free will accounting for their stance on any given situation. A leader or "chief" could not declare war, nor stop it, but could influence the people to be either passive or agressive, and often the proposed influence had no effect.

just an interesting bit I thought I'd throw in there. referenced from "The Old Beloved Path"
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. Helen Keller
