Ahem! Must I remind you that it is the Job of the QC Department to sample and review all food before it is sent out to other forum members? It's a big responsibility that we take seriously at the QC Department. Remember - we are your friend.

QC is an assumed receiver of all things edible. I'm simply trying to stem these Johny Come Latelies, whose name I won't mention (Rebel), from cutting in the front of the line.

    Apologies to QC...

LOL, Rick! Only this year did I add my sister. Before I only did my parents' generation and up. Might be a while before I add cousins.

My aunt and uncle sent me a country ham from Kentucky. So I HAD to make buttermilk biscuits.

This is torture!! How can a thread like this, with PICTURES for crying out loud, be allowed on a wilderness survival site where it is sure to infiltrate the cabins of food deprived bush people?! What kind of mind games are you people playing?

My wife is fixing dinner for the tribe so I spent the afternoon Christmas eve baking pies. On the menu are:

Chess Pie - 'Cause KYRat fired me up. I haven't had one in a while so I made one. (Got the corner of the hot pad in it and messed up the pretty)
Pumpkin Pie - Gotta have that. It's Christmas
    Coconut Cream Pie
    Chocolate Pie

    Can't wait!!!!

Much as I hate to admit it; I'm not doing any cooking this Christmas.

Reheating some Ham today. Tater salad is done and in the fridge. Green beans are thawed out and stewing in chicken broth with onions and bacon. Those are our contributions. Don't know what the rest of the family will bring.
