I watched that story last night. It was one of the interest stories played during the Olympics.
I've seen the story as well. On the TODAY show. Great story. However, its more common than you might think. I have an old dog named Opus that is blind and still is on my tour team for my 2 hour sled dog sampler outings. I have known a few other folks that have blind sled dogs. As long as they are in the middle of the team, its no big deal. a blind lead dog! Now that would be unusual!
Its amazing the passion they have for running. My buddy gets more excitement from the dogs when he walks to the harness bag then when he gives treats.
