    Cool Calling all "Fly-Boys"!

Okay, let's see, how many of us here are Fly-Fishermen/fly-tyers (FF & FT)?
Here's my "short list, feel free to jump in as I'm going somewhere with this.

    1.) Smok (FF & FT)
    2.) Rick (FF for sure.)
    3.) Sarge (both)

I know several others have claimed they were, I just can't remember who they were. Pleease list yourselves as we're going to be using these skills for a "survival idea", thanks!

Use to both fly fish and tie flies. Rather throw spinners.

I fish the upper Androscoggin (New Hampshire) for rainbows, brookies, and landlocks (salmon). I don't tie my own flies, but get them here

Ask for the "Brown Owl". It's so lethal it should be illegal.

FF Only. Midwest lakes and streams. Blue gill were built for a fly rod. Those guys are just built to swim. Bass fishing is on another level with a fly rod.

Pretty much only catfishin for me. Throw the hook in the water, or string them across the river, then sit back and drink beer.

Went noodlin for them once, cant say I care too much for that. I have a friend that goes all the time, I think the biggest one he noodled was about 35lbs. That's a big fish to catch by hand.

There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.

    Thumbs up Holy Crap!

Smok I just got the flies today and I am very much impressed! If we had an outdoor-type school using the talant we have here you'd be my choice for the Fly-fishing/tying teacher! Thanks bro! Beowulf, check out that Fly Rod of your gramps; it may well be worth much $$$. Is it made out of bamboo?

I don't think I'd take gramp's flyrod out either. Take some time to look up the rod and the reel, if it has one. You probably have a good bit of change there.

Here's the challenge. Whatever materials we can come up with in the woods are given to one Tyer, in this case I'm nominating SMOK. Said person has to tie a fly from the material that will actually catch a fish. This means an actual field test. What do you think? Too ambitious?
