While on a hiking trip a good friend of mine gave me a gift, an Opinel. Had one as a kid , but I didn't appreciate it for what it was, a great knife.

I saw this a couple of days ago. Neat little trick. I also used the back of the blade to shave some tinder.

I picked one of these up just before I left the States but haven't had much chance to play with it. I'll have to give it a try with a flint if i can ever find any down here. We do have loads of quartz though. Mac
