Default It's Almost Maple Syrup Time!

I tried my hand at making maple syrup once. Even though I still preferred Mrs. Butterworth's, it came out pretty good.

March is probably the best time to collect Maple sap in New England. Here are a couple of links if you want to try it for yourself:

The Old Beloved Path points out that Maple syrup was the main source of sweetener, since there were no bees here before settlement. I have a lot of projects going on, but I hope that this year I will get to try my hand at making it! Thanks for the links Ken.

Gonna be a late season for my neighbors who produce maple syrup, they are going to have to buy sap from other producers for their annual festival planned for the last weekend of February and the first weekend of March.
