Thanks for the tip! If I make more now I know what to try. It's not a problem getting 2-liter bottles.
I agree about not needing bagged dirt. Normally I would make my own "potting soil" but since I could get some for free (less time involved) I went that route.
Word of caution for anyone planning...
Rick: I work at an ACE and we carry it as well. Any ACE that does not have it in store can special order it for you and there shouldn't be an extra charge since it will be delivered with there normal...
That's what I would use as well. You can find it at many hardware stores or places that sell real hardwood cutting boards and other food type products made from wood.
If you were just displaying...
I would love to attend something like this but sadly my free time this entire summer is pretty well booked. :( Guess I'll keep reading and practicing alone!

Personally, growing up I hated the stuff. Now I've expanded my tastes and don't mind it. It's all how you prepare it really. Just like everything else. One other reason people don't grow it is...
Thanks, and thank you for that link! I don't have access to any inexpensive pond baskets like that (they aren't a popular item around here). But I think I can' make something work. ;)

I don't usually start threads on here. I more or less lurk since there is so much great information on this site that it is hard for me to add anything to it. However I am fairly proud of my project...

The New Yankee Workshop just re-ran a 2 part series on building your own greenhouse. Looked to be fairly well designed.

I'm from Northern WI myself. My wife has family up in and near Moose Lake, Carlton, and Barnum.
I voted yes because it keeps the gun topics in one place. I won't keep stumbling across them in all the other forums. There are other boards that I go to if I want gun talk; I come here for survival...
woodlander1314: What area of WI are you in? The southern areas (too many damned corn fields) are going to need very different types of camouflage than the northwoods. If you are in woodland, and I'm...
Just curious, but will you be growing your own grapes or will you be buying them?
You said it's an old French barn. What style roof does it have? That can make your choice of roofing material much easier as a very steep roof will be harder to make earthen (rain + new earth roof +...

I've been trying to get my Aunt's recipe for years now. Every time there is a family doing she is told to bring her beans.
Good place that Ace... ;) Especially with my 15% discount! lol
I've been trying to get our store manager to order those in. We constantly sell out of their hammers.
Nice Rick... Real nice... ;) lol
The news and the radio said that the National average was right around $1.97 the other day, which seems about right since where I am we normally run a couple to a few cents higher than the national...
