Well it's birch and pine, and I've heard that pine is even worse so...
I tried that, but the mud is basically dissolved in, so that doesn't work either :(

Thanks, and in fact the powder is just very dark brown. If I lean more on it or bow faster though, is still stays darker brown. There is definitely smoke, but it isn't coming from the powder. Any...

Thanks but I've tried filtering it with a tshirt, but this water is like REALLY brown, and that doesn't work
I've tried that, but the silt doesn't settle, not even days afterwards, the water is just a very brown color.
Are birch leaves and catkins edible raw, cooked, or not at all?
In my woods there is no stream, etc. only very, very muddy pools, so if I wanted to get water I would have to get it from these pools. I know I would have to boil it to get rid of the bacteria, etc....
