Hunter,
I think it's advertised by Gerber as able to cut through the fuselage, I myself have not seen or heard whether anyone actually does this or not.
The OP mentioned they bought the "original" version, I don't think it came with serrations, just the funky spine saw.
Having said that, I'm not a fan of serrations myself. With so many people...
I bring large heavy duty ziplocks with the litres marked on the outside with a sharpy and chlorine tabs. Also 2 55gal drum liners. All can fit in one cargo pocket with room to spare. Think of all...
Ahhhhh, gotcha. I'm thinking that would annoy me in 2.5 seconds if I had use it with that stuck to it.
I bought a Companion MG and Robust HQ for making molded sheathes with. I havent had a chance to really take them out but did some feather sticks and general cutting tasks with them. They seem like...
Hollywood hand guard?
Wow, and wow some more. Sorry, all I got is wow!
As always, gorgeous knives. I always like the file work.
Fuzzy tin foil?
The $50 knife is very well thought of, does anybody have any thoughts on the books by Blade Magazine (Making Knives), or How to Make Knives by Richard Barney & Bob Loveless?
There was a character who called himself Blade and he apparently used a Battle Mistress. Many arguments were started by him, nothing but a troll.
Crash:
I haven't seen his name in a post...
Man I miss those stories! Is that guy around or banned?
The idea of using the fist and thumb method (called fistmele), doesn't get your bow tuned with any degree of accuracy. It just means all your bows have a brace height that matched your fist and...
Agreed, managing to pull off a stupid stunt usually ends up giving you legend status. Failing usually means ending up as part of the Darwin awards or part of a Youtube fail compilation!
In short, yes is the answer!!
We do stupid things for various reasons, such as but not limited to, being macho (even if we arent), claiming to to know all about something when we don't(see #1),...
I was thinking snaps or guy out loops would last longer in high winds. Velcro would probably do well, but if I'm getting out the tools and sewing machine, I might as well go whole hog!
WM,
I was meaning the popular outdoor/bushcraft models.
I prefer molded sheaths over retention strap only. The idea was to find a couple of knives that would cover a good number of the...
Yup, I can see it now.
Not just a pretty face and hong model eh?
I suppose depending on the look or style you are going for, try backing it with something. Backed bows tend to take a lot more than unbacked and are more forgiving to those of us who arent overly...
Man, that is awesome. Only thing missing is duct tape!!
Thanks Rick, that's awesome.
Rick,
Not a bad idea at all, thanks.
I have to agree with the gents who pointed out getting a proper string. The bow will shoot better and tune better with a proper string. Stick with dacron string and not any of the newer "fastflite"...
I grabbed the 4 awning panels from a screen tent that was being tossed by a friend.
Some grommets and nylon webbing give them versatility. What I would like to figure out, is how to bind 2 together...
