You guy's are doing great....so here is a side question, and I hope I don't derail the conversation. But without saying it is you, is this a youth issue only..?? or are there a fair amount of middle...
Same as every day, worked my butt off and watched what I eat. I am a one sandwich, two pieces of fruit (with a bottle of water) for lunch kind of guy. Seems to work, I still wear the same size...
I also want to have my own survival frying pan, your suggestions guys are really amazing! Will definitely try to create one :)
That will work! We have created those emergency candle before when we were out for a camping, we put in some lavender oil for a great smell.
Great idea! And the idea with old recycled bacon grease! Yum. I need to cook some bacon now, Wildthang's reply made me crave for some bacon!
Very good information you've posted! Thanks for sharing this one. I've got to print it for future reference and even share it to my friends. Again, thanks a lot!
I was craving for this stuff just last week. I was even prepared to buy all the necessary ingredients. I might make this next week.
Chicken thighs in a Knorr Primavera sauce. It's made quite a lot of sauce, along with the chicken juices, so I'll make a veg soup using the leftover sauce. ^Those pics are making me hungry!
There are some good points, but disagree with the statement against composting kitchen waste. My pile around 80% kitchen waste, mostly citrus fruit waste, 20% leaves. All compost quickly and I see...
I think I'm going to do some sort of chicken stir fry as we have lots of vegetables in the fridge I need to use up. Hopefully, there's a sachet of sauce somewhere in the cupboards to liven it up...
Today, I'll be cooking baby back ribs. I searched the internet for recipes on this and chose the one that I think will taste the best. I can't wait to see how this will turn out. I've been craving...
The wood seems to split rather easily. I wonder if it's got to do with his ax as well. I'll see if I can incorporate his technique. I don't do the chopping of wood often but there are unavoidable...
I think it was a brilliant idea. The next time I'm going to peel apples, I'll try this. Usually, I don't peel apples but there are recipes that require me to do so.
The garbage service in our area doesn't collect our garbage as often as we would have wanted too. For years now, we've been doing our best at recycling most of the stuff. Compared to the days when we...
I'm looking for another homesteading cookbook since I have mostly tried the recipes on my cookbooks already. I want to try a new recipe and since I only quite own a few, I resorted to looking for...
It looks to me like a hybrid as well. It remarkably resembles a spaghetti squash though. As long as it tastes good and safe to eat, I don't really mind knowing its name. :)
I often cook for my dogs these days and I noticed that they are healthier compared before. I always follow cookbooks for dogs to ensure that they are safe to eat for my pets. I checked the link and...
That's really wonderful. You did great on your solar project. I'm curious, how much do you think will you be able to save now compared to how much you were paying on your energy bills before?
Thanks for the link. Some of them are quite helpful and I'm itching to try a few. The duct tape seems interesting. I am looking at my keys in a certain light now.
I am sorry for your loss as well. As an owner to 3 dogs, I know how it feels to do something like this. But I know you made the right decision. I would have done the same had one of my pets suffer...
I own quite a few homesteading cookbooks. My favorite would probably be The Homesteader's Kitchen by Robin Burnside. The recipes include good, fresh ingredients that are easy to find and mostly I...
You did a really wonderful job with your garden. The plants look so healthy and green. I am quite envious that I can't seem to grow my own garden this good.
The truth is... I gave my heart away a long time ago, my whole heart... and I never really got it back.

I am planting some tulips in my garden. But I would like to ask where to place them.I am thinking about placing them near the pond.
