The battery and wire combo above also work on char punk wood. Seems like a good thing to file away in ones bag of tricks in case it is ever needed as a battery and wire are almost always near by.

Hi all, been experimenting with starting a fire using a 12 volt battery, some small stranded (speaker wire), short piece of paracord and an accelerant.
