Welcome from Ohio!
The more you know, the less you have to carry! :D
Hello and welcome from Ohio!
Though I will say, I myself wouldn't call life on a farm survival. I'd probably call it living on a farm.
They sound good in theory, but the time it takes to bake them in a kiln (or even in some coals) properly it would be impractical. It would be far easier to carve a point in the wood and then harden...
I have heard of whip darts, but never looked too much into them. My friend Tycho from the medieval reenactment group/battle game I'm in had brought Swiss arrows to my attention, and found it to be...
Hi there!
What part of ohio are you from, if I may be so bold to ask?
If you have a length of good paracord, you have a weapon.
Used in much the same manner as the Atlatl, the swiss dart increases throwing strength by adding in an extra tool.
The arrows take a...
Welcome from Ohio!
Learnin' is the best part of this place.
Stinging Nettle is one you can cook and eat, but one that most people don't particularly want to get on their skin. Or eat raw, for that matter.

If you like the atlatl, look into the swiss dart. Same mechanics as the atlatl, but much easier to carry, store, and make.
Also, hickory (if I recall correctly) is a good wood to make a bow with,...
I've carried a lot of knives, and used a lot of different ones in a lot of situations, but I can never seem to pick one.
I think I can just say that my favorite knife is the one that gets the job...
I know of another method of oilskinning; it was effective, but really stiff.
Anyone have any luck with the beeswax/linseed oil method of oil skinning, and it coming out decently pliable?
Thank y'kindly Rick, Hunter, and Crashdive
Dagorhir is a nerdy battle game where people make fake weapons and go fight. What was nice about it is that its about the fighting.
And being poor I don't have time to go camping often. I pinch my...
How are y'all doing?
Figured I would make my first post here, cause, well, that makes sense.
I live in Ohio. I am 22 years old. For several years now I've done something called Dagorhir, which got...
