I find a high powered pellet rifle in .17 or .22 calliber (some have both barrels) works very well for pests around the homestead. Not too loud, accurate, and NOT long range.

World War I German aircraft pilots used "Scho-Ka-Kola" for compact energy---caffine from cocoa, coffee and cola-nut extract----available pie shaped pieces in 3.25" tins. Ebay.
I try to keep some M & M's handy, they last in hot and cold weather, and add a fast energy boost.
Coffee filters are cheap and light weight. They will extend the life of most any filter or purifier system. Double as a fire starter.
Might consider M&M's. Keep some in a vehicle to munch and also for walking. Best part is hot weather and freezing temperatures doesn't seem to effect them.
If you put it on its side and cut a door opening opposite the existing hole, you can use longer firewood and the small hole can be made into an air control.-------------nice can!!!!!!!!!
Backwoods Home magazine (Jan/Feb 2011, pp 22-24) has an article by Enola Gay on pressure canning bacon in jars.
Don, you may want to try---yellow container---gasline antifreeze, as a fuel. I have not used any yet but have heard that it works well.
I have been reading the Forum over the past month. Have found it full of valuable information. I try to avoid wearing white- as it will never last the day. Am always looking for a better way to do...
