Probably not anytime soon....it more like the chrome tanned leather has salts and chemicals the may corrode metal if knives are left in storage.
I gonna guess that the leather I used in the OP...
Your leather is "chromed tanned"....one give away is the blue tint on the edge.
This kinda explains the different between vegetable tanned and Chrome Tanned.

Was patterned after a Ruger Old Army .45 BP revolver...
