I personally carry a small and light weight knife sharpener the "Smiths PP1 pocket Pal." While it will not make a blade razor sharp, it will sharpen the knife to a very usable level.

This is just my suggestion based on what I carry every day, but you could cut down on several of the Swiss Army knives with just one top shelf Leatherman. I carry a Charge TTi, and a Benchmade...
