if i bite my toung any harder its going to bleed so im ignoreing the rest of this thread before i say something completely immature...and yet just as hilarious.
i loved my dads 700
well as stated above i have had no experience with ruger at all so i had no idea that the american was a "starter" level rifle. also as stated above my service manager (who has much more firearms...
ive shot my dads rem 30.06 and loved the feel of it. never held the ruger tho. step father in law has some connections to a local gun shop. think my next day off during the week (if i ever get one)...
my service manager called the rugers a "crisp" trigger
thats part of what im looking for randy
i gotta get some rounds off with em both and see how they feel
the hawkeye comes with a maple stock and i have been eyeing it as opposed to the american but i did have my heart set on the remington for nostalgia sake.

while i do agree batch (and the belt wrap is certainly a more practical idea), its just a matter of if your life depends on it and its there you dont have to worry about it.
or you could make a paracord belt. even incorporate a kit or something else into it like they do with the bracelets. ive been giving that some heavy thought myself.
