These cheap, durable ammo pouches are handy for more than 7.62x54R. Attachment 6957
I'm able to put seven 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge into each pouch or use one for shells and the other for survival gear.

That's a great idea, must have 6 or 7 sets around here somewhere.
I do use AR mag pouches for shot shells, (cut out the deviders), with the .22 mag ammo boxes in the granade side pockets.
Some of the Nagant pouches currently hold 7.62 X54r on stripper clips.
I for one never toss anything that looks like it might need a new home.
I really like the AR mag pouches, and old first aid pouches, and I do have a surplus store that I can get them for a buck or two, so always have a couple laying around on my (cough) prep and craft shelf, (DW calls it may junk shelf)
I gonna have to look hard on the Nagant pouches...but yeah, I might have gotten around to it just didn't have a need....Thanks for bring them up.
Same here. I have several just haven't "re-issued" them. I like the shotgun shell idea, too.
And don't for get ...They look cool!
But smell terrible.
1st Sentry: "What on earth is that odor? Did you.....?"
2nd Sentry: "No, it wasn't me. That dang Rebel is trying to sneak up on us again. Old Mosin pouches."
1st Sentry: "Oooooh. I shoulda known."
"What are you laughing at, Ivan."
"We are shipping 3000 surplus pouches to America."
"So?"
"I've stored them in the bathroom again."
"You are going to start a war with America."
So, yeah they do kinda stink....But had to try it out anyway.
20ga, I can get 8 round's in one pouch vertical, and I'm thinking that this might work out slick for slugs in one pouch and shot in the other. Hummmmm
I haven't tried the 12ga yet, but looks like just droping them in horzontial might work the best.
Maybe after a while the fasteners will break in and not be such a PITA.
Great idea.
