Hello to all
I go by Rob. I am 50 and have been hunting and fishing most of my life in the U.S. I became interested in advancing my knowledge of more traditional methods of living as I adventure with my teenage son.
I did discover most of what my dad taught me is really "traditional". Although he primarily preferred the camper, a bic lighter and a chain saw.
He was born at the end of the depression in rural Alabama and what he learned was daily living (survival)to his family.
He did pass the knowledge of how to live from the land and also how to take advantage of what you are offered.
I want my kids to understand how to feed themselves should the need arise.

Welcome to the Wilderness Forum and can I ask what have you learned about Survival today? Have you taken the SGT Survival TEST as yet? a good idea to take it as a new member and then say six months to a year to test your skill levels. You can find a link on the bottom of the main forum page. Good Luck.
