Knife...if you are old enough.
Gibbs rule #9..."Never go anywhere with out a knife".....But will add, "When ever possible"
Depends,
do you mean a knife or are you talking about a big honkin' anaconda killer so you can chop your way out after it swallows you?
Now that right there is funny I don't care who you are.
Depends - on what you want it for. If you are looking for light wight and fixed blade REI has a combo they are looking to blow out and its for backpacking.

Wranglestar makes great video comparisons and likes the better stuff up in the north woods.

....Think about other stuff....thinking about other stuff...
Have a weak mind so I can tune stuff out. Kinda like my ears.
The answer is yes, you should buy one.
It is personal preference, so, if you don't know, buy them all, and test them out. Then you will know.
Which leads to the next question... if you can choose, why only choose 2?
I will add this, the only time I limit myself is when I am backpacking. The last time I went, we did stay at a camp that was well used, and didn't have a lot of easy to get firewood. There were a lot of deadfall, but they were very thick. That was the only time I wished I would have taken a saw. Luckily, I was with a bunch of scouts and just told them to walk farther to get the easy stuff. :) I usually bring my favorite Helle knife. It is a little bigger than a Mora, but still not big. I will use it to split kindling, but I am not splitting huge logs. I split small stuff, and then get the fire started. Once the fire is going, I just put the big stuff on, no splitting.
I just got back from a camping trip. Here is a picture of the knives I brought. I did not take a picture of the axes (5) or the saws (3).

pssssst. He didn't leave with that many...
Never mind, I have nothing to add - I'm just a troll.
Let's see a pic of that modified Crunch.
Yea I want to see that Crunch.
I also want to see a shovel that is better than an ax or knife.
I have had a lot of shovels, big shovels for the stationary camps and small ones for digging holes when I was in the Army, but never one I would pick over a good ax or knife in a wilderness survival situation.
Fact is the most use I have ever had for a shovel in the woods was digging cat holes or latrine pits for people that were full of $%!t.
Hahahahaha!!!
I'm gonna hold my breath 'till it's posted.

No Rick! No!
You live alone and there is no one there to kick you in the butt and jump-start your lungs when hell finally freezes over!
Depends what you want to do with it, and what you prefer, different combos work better for certain people.
Myself I like a knife and Saw.
