Thanks for the update.
Praying for you Crash! Glad you guys are making it!
If there is anything that the little orange army and I can due to assist you crashdive, let any of the millions of internet minions in the Northeast Florida area pass it along.
Question for anybody.
Does the power outage effect "Hot Spot" internet?
Mine works at the city house, at The Place, northern Wisconsin, in Louisiana, North Carolina.......???
if you mean using your phone as a hot spot? No I wouldn't think so As long as the tower that was broadcasting the cell signal still had power.
Hope all is well Crashdive !!
Gonna have to be a bit more specific. Is that a Verizon MiFi?
Thanks for the update on the Crash. Good luck.
Mifi should work.
Hunter, if it's a jet pack or similar then you only need a way to charge it. That could be commercial, external battery, solar, generator, etc.
Charging may the problem as far as my unit goes......does work off USB of laptop....but laptop does need to charge battery charged as well....
Works with my 12v to 115v inverter.....using 115 volt to device adaptor charging unit went plugged into it, in truck....or my home made battery pack.
I guess if cell service is operational the MIFI Jet Pac would/should work.....That kinda was my question.
This is the unit I use all the time......cable people screwed me over, so we dropped all that in favor for a more portable system.
Cell phones, MiFi, and Dish (2)....covers two primary locations (except TV)....and travels.

I hae been out in the boonies, plugged MIFI modem into the lap top and worked fine on my end.
Glad Crash is doing ok! The issue here was no service, didn't matter if one had an inverter or generator. Time Warner was out! AT&T was out. AT&T has discounted their services, I don't look for that to happen with Time Warner. Glad it is over for most...still 1500 without power here Friday.
Crash was getting on with a Tap-Talk phone......so apparently has cell service for that.
Just wondering how all this stuff works.
A magician gave power to tiny microscopic fairies that carry info from one fairy station to another. The fairy stations are located in the devices we use and on the towers that are around. When a big storm like a hurricane comes around, it blows all the fairies away causing our devices not to work. Services will begin working again when the fairies find their way back.
At least that is what the phone guy told me........
Back in the day....it was fairly common to hand the new guy a garbage bag and tell him it was dust day. The day we blew the dust out of the phone lines. Sort of let you size up who was gullible and who wasn't.
I was about to ask what the hay is mifi. I'm such a dinosaur.
When a kid, I asked my older brother how does a radio make it's sounds. He pointed to the round magnet part of the speaker and said that inside that was a little round stage, and tiny people were inside on that stage making the music. I was young enough to lose many minutes trying to figure out how in the heck it was possible for little tiny people to be in a little stage inside the radio.
