Interesting find
This past fall we had a pool installed. At the 6-7 foot depth stumps were removed with the roots burned. The trunks weren’t cut and there weren’t any other tree parts. Just stumps. We live on the north end of the Okefenokee swamp. Any idea of what may have caused the tree root burn?

Btw, the stumps were cedar. They didn’t look all that old but, we know no one in the past 100 years has buried them.

I've heard of fire smoldering up roots for a long ways away from the source. Cedar is pretty flammable. shrug.

never mind the stumps just worry bout the 17ft pythons and 10 ft gators
