My intro and some background on me. The short story is I'm 42, been living in Colorado since I was 10, and love the outdoors. I've had a few close calls, but I'd like to think that I've prevented far more than I've had through a little planning and preparation. My real area of interest in the last year or two has been in survival psychology; learning why some give up or pisspoor decisions while others seem to transform under the pressure into cool-handed survival machines that save not only themselves, but help others around them. Fascinating stuff.
