...But this time, the Alabama was armed and fought off the attackers.


NAIROBI, Kenya— Somali pirates attacked the Maersk Alabama on Wednesday for the second time in seven months, though private guards on board the U.S.-flagged ship repelled the attack with gunfire and a high-decibel noise device.

They finally caught on. Oh, no they did not!!!! The owner still resisted armed guards (too much money). They were placed there by the US Navy (because as a US Flag they are part of the Merchant Marine)!!! Glad it worked out, but the jerks are all governed by the all mighty buck

I'd sure like to have seen the look on their face when the crew flipped on the LRAD.

They just paid several million to release a Spanish crew and the article I read said luxury automobiles were lined up on the beach waiting for the pirates to return with their cut of the loot.
