There was a launch a few minutes ago. Here's what it looked like from my front yard.

Pretty cool. But!! If you ever seen something that looks like this then duck and cover!!

Those shuttle launchs are awesome. I was down at NASA in 2002 for the STS-12 launch and it was delayed a few days but I was leaving the next day so I missed it.....DAMN!

One of the ships I was on was at Port Canaveral during a launch. Very impressive up close.
I was in downtown Tampa several years ago. The company I worked for has about a 14 story building there and I was able to watch one of the launches. About the only thing I remember seeing was a plume of smoke like in Crash's picture. Tampa is too far away to even see the fireball. At least I don't remember it. But it was still pretty cool.
