As I've mentioned in other threads, I bought a Gamo Whisper .177 cal. air rifle that malfunctioned. I took it back the store where I bought it and exchanged it for a Gamo Hunter Sport .177 cal. adult air rifle.

I also bought several different type of pellets.

1. Beeman Crow-Magnum
2. Beeman Silver Arrow
3. Beeman Kodiak
4. Beeman Silver Bear
5. Beeman Laser

6. RWS Super-Mag
7. RWS Hobby

8. Gamo Magnum
9. Gamo PBA

10. Daisy Precision Max

After sighting in the Gamo Hunter Sport I began the task of finding the most accurate pellet to use in this air rifle. All shooting was done at 20 yards. After shooting several hundred pellets I found the magic. This air rifle likes long heavy pellets.

1. Beeman Silver Arrow - - - 0.5in.
2. Beeman Kodiak - - - - - - 0.5in.
3. Beeman Crow-Magnum - - 0.75in.
4. RWS Super-Mag - - - - - 0.75in.

It is no longer safe to be a pigeon in my neighborhood. The next chance I get I will shoot some rounds across my crono and see what the velocities are like. I wonder how this gun will do on feral cats? here kitty kitty kitty.......pop! he he he..........here kitty kitty kitty...,

I was wondering....is the "hunter" much louder, than the "whisper"?

If you are using real light pellets like the Gamo PBS, the Hunter is much louder then the Whisper. If you use heavy pellets to keep the velocity bellow 1080fps they both sound the same.
