Ever been out somewhere and seen 6 wild turkeys at once? Ever got within 30 feet of them? If you haven't, then come to Pittsburgh. Its not uncommon to see 4 deer together on Mt. Washington during a daily walk, but the last two days I've seen 6 turkeys congregating in a bulldozed field where a few abandoned houses were torn down. If that isn't wierd enough, I got within 30 feet of them while taking pics on my phone. Did they run?- why no....at least not really. Three of them just started running single file in a circle as if confused, but the rest just kept eating from the ground. Maybe there was something in the ground with nicotine in it. Either way- they were right across the river from the downtown. Maybe they were vultures or turkey vultures, or maybe they were turkeys that knew martial arts. Either way- turkeys really are stupid. Its getting a mite close to that time of year....maybe I ought to get me something to shoot with.....
Turkey season has come and gone here. Are you sure they were turkeys?

Yep, I think they were turkeys. There can still be turkeys around after turkey season.
