Ken - Jarhead is an expression used with the utmost respect by Submarine Sailors when referring to our Marine brethern. Just as Bubblehead is when they refer to us.

*snicker* Yeah, I remember a few nights in Newport, R.I., back in the 70's, when a group of Sailors would come into a bar filled with Marines, or vice-versa. :innocent: You could just feel the love.........
HOWEVER, I do remember one time :) when a group of about 10 bikers backed a couple of Marines against the bar just before about 20 or so Sailors walked in. THAT was entertaining........ :innocent:

Aaah, those were the good old days,, anytime "outsiders" leaned on a service member, all GIs regardless of branch of service would band to gether. I have a scar on one hand from a thug that "wrote a check" by threatening an Army guy. Us "Prop Heads" (US Air Force) assisted the Army guy in "cashing it". The good old days

Yep - fond memories. A couple of Marines got rolled outside a bar (Guam in the mid 70's). The next day there were about 25 Marines and 200 Sailors that "splained" things to the local proprietor. Didn't have another problem in Guam.

So...you were just kidding, when you said that the only good Marine, is a Submarine.:innocent:

Actually it's "The Best Marine is a Submarine". A fella has to have his standards.
Semper Fi brothers and sisters, may you stay out of harms way.
