Yea but, you, Chris and the other Mods live in a democracy. Same as the anti-gun Senator I guess.

If nothing else it's a sign of how folks don't stand up. Wimps.
What would be the down side of voting?

that sounds exactly like where I live...
Oh, wait...:alien:
Well....you have to understand.....there are very very scientific "things" that moderators have to do. Not just any riff raff....I mean....anybody can do it. It takes years and years...well, maybe not years...but days anyway to learn how to do it. You have to be willing to put in Looooooong hours of tedious work....like getting coffee and pastries for Chris. Once you've proved that you can "serve" in that capacity, then and only then, can you be considered moderator material. That's when you start making the big bucks!!
Of course, a very good way to start is sucking up to us. I mean REALLY sucking up to us. That would get you points.

To quote an old Army Ranger General "This is a democracy and I [Chris and Mods, I guess] have 51% of the vote."

Ohhh, but you see, Chris does what he wants with "his" property, just like you do what you want with "your" property.
By your standard, we can vote to take all you money and stuff, and divide it between ourselves!:innocent: Hmmm....

Eh I'm a Moderator on another forum...it's ok but no big deal really. I don't really see a need to vote for Mods though. The ones we have are good at what they do so why vote?
Why would anyone want the job?

Like I said, I don't have a problem with our mods or the way things are. Sometimes, I get an idea and I throw it out to see if it sticks. However, I can think of a couple of knowledgeable and relaxed folks who would make pretty good mods in addition to the ones we have.
Boy are you lucky you threw in "in addition to". Otherwise, you would have failed at "sucking up" and I'd probably have to dust off my ban button.

Want to tell us who you had in mind, just out of curiosity....

As a moderator on another forum, I can attest to the fact it can be a thankless job, especially when dealing with a forum for a not for profit agency.
Not to slight anyone but, with your experience, you would be one.
Well I appreciate the thought, I truly do... but I'd have to gratefully decline (see Red Lake's post above) and I suspect I'm being way too nice if someone's considering me moderate LOL
This is exactly how mob violence starts. This is it. Just one little seed of discontent and the next thing you know stores are being looted and cars overturned. If I see anyone with a pitchfork or torch outside my window I'm shooting first and asking questions later......just sayin'.

Rick: Slowly remove your finger from the ban button and step away from your keyboard. Don't make any sudden moves .....................................!
Oh, no. You aren't getting me to buy into that. If I go, you all go. I have the ban button right here.

Yeah same here. Being a mod IMO just means helping police the site and keep things clean and fair,

You mean you guys don't get paid by the owner of the sites that you moderate? Wow - I thought we all did.
