Had this sent to me in an email today. It says that this moose was 12' from hoof to top of antlers and 10' to the top of the shoulder. Also for comparison it stated that the board laying across the road is 12' long. I find it hard to believe but what you guys think? Real or fake?

real...for sure. they are out there, just normally not walking down the roads

I believe they are but I'm a bit skeptical of this one. Just by comparing it to the surroundings the size seems to be exaggerated. But who knows, I have been wrong on occasion. :)

Looking at that moose, and if that piece of lumber is twelve feet long, I would estimate that moose stands about six to seven feet tall.

Probably the size is exaggerated. Looking at the way the light falls on the moose in comparison to the background, the picture looks real. If I had been standing that close when he walked out it would be easy to judge the size. The length of the guy passed out on the ground is 6'.

It's a Fake picture!! Look at the feet where they "touch" the ground!! It's been photo shopped!! There may be moose that big, Buuut that ain't one!! A good photo shop but still it has been faked or retouched at the very least.

Yeah, I gotta admit, the big guy doesn't seem to throw a shadow. The light lays on the road just about the same in both pics.

Gotcha' I was typing without thinking it through. If you notice the picture where the moose is walking down the road you can see the shadow of the leg but it is MUCH thinner than the actual leg. I think this was an actual picture of a moose walking out of the woods,and down the road. However the left front hoof does not look right where it meets the road either. I think someone saw a moose walking out of the woods and just photoshopped the moose larger. The angle of the light hitting the moose is right, but the feet meeting the ground isn't.

He meant sunbeams.(The cars, not the light waves.)
Those little cars could drive right under that big moose!

That's fake...apart from this being a hover moose of unprecedented proportions, there is no way somebody would happen to be standing there with a camera while a mega-moose steps out, right by a piece of strategically placed lumber.
From what I've seen of moose, they would not step out on a road or trail right by a strange, human-made object when there is nothing else lying on the road.

This picture has been making the rounds for a couple of years now. I am pretty sure it is fake, never seen a moose or any other animal that has the exact same step each time. The moose is in the same position, just different place.

Yeah, the board is real. Just look at the shadow. And besides, a 12' wide road is very common, so sure the board is 12'.

Oh wait, there is a moose in the picture. Never mind.
