I'm back!

Well I made it home safe and sound. No thanks to a certain set of stairs on the ferry.(and yes I was sober at the time)
Boy have you been busy while I was away! I'm going to be busy catching up then I hope to post a few pics this evening.
The holiday was a blast, lots of vino collapso, lots of chocolate, lots of other food items, and very little else.
The only downside was the travelling time, 3hrs to ferry 8hr ferry trip then 2 hrs to cottage in France.
French TV is.... different. Game shows seem very popular and dubbed CSI is hilarious, especially after a few beers!
The countryside in Brittany is very reminiscent of Cornwall. We travelled around a bit but really didn't do much at all. Will post pics later.:)

Welcome back, we missed you, how was the weather? I'm partial to southern france myself, really like Neimes especially during the week of their jazz festival.

The weather was utterly fantastic, the whole week was sunny, temps in the upper 70's and a nice light breeze. The mornings were very foggy, but by 09:30 it had cleared.
We went to Fontenay in the Vendee region on wednesday and the temp was well into the 80's. The Vendee is my favourite region of France, pics to follow later.

I was planning on buying a round the country rail ticket and travelling here and there. I don't drive so public transport is necessary. I do have to visit a friend in W. Virginia and another in New Mexico, so thought I'd take the slow route and see a bit of everywhere. And there's a cunning plan in there, sleeper trains are cheaper then hotels!:sneaky2:
