There is a good thread on Alaska Outdoors Forum, of members experience staking LAND in Alaska under the current staking program. I don't now how to import the thread but maybe Doug or someone else who is a member of both forums can do it.
NOTE: if your going to join you can say you were referred by: AGL4now (I get little green points). The thread is under "Alaska Cabins and remote living".

If that's not it just let me know And I'll correct it. I believe anyone who goes there will still have to register as it would not allow me to the forum until I had. Maybe you will get a LOT of little "Green Thingies" LOL!!!

Yes, "Thank-You" that is it. Several members on this forum had asked about the discount on the price of land bought from the state of Alaska for military Vet's.

After 40 years I'd say "you're from there (AK)!"

After 11 years I say I'm from AK, because this is the first place I've ever felt like I belonged. The first place I've ever truly called home.

That is a great thread. Lots of good info. That site is also a very informative site about all things Alaska. I have the same screen name there as well. :)
