Is it really dry there? I noticed that the watermark is about a foot and a half-2' above the waterline. Oh yeah(here's your opening CS), How big was that Bass? Looks like Y'all had a great time!! I miss the swamps,I get homesick just a little seeing all that Spanish Moss!! Tell your Missus She done good with the pics.

Good observation Poco, yes we are near drought status but more so they draw the lake down to flood the coastal areas for duck season every year. I got hung on a stump or 2 but never had to get out. The bass was about 12" but fun as I was panfishing with light gear.

MAN I Give you the PERFECT opportunity to practice a fish telling story and that is the BEST you can do?? C'mon don't you mean it was 18" long and fought like the Loch Ness Monster was trying to get it,almost broke the line twice, and almost made you fall out of the boat trying to get it in? No you reply---

The bass was about 12" but fun You obviously need to go fishing more often!!!LOL

As for the observation I grew up in Swamps and it is just second nature to look at stuff like that, I didn't even think about it,to tell the truth.

I fish alot Poco and the trophies are on the wall. One is an unrecorded world record. Don't have to brag when you have the metals on the wall. Not many would really want to try and compete. In my 20's I was fishing 2-3 times a week...

I got lost my first time and it wasn't fun...I had a 2.5 Mercury back then on a 10ft. jon boat. Ran outta gas trying to get out, paddled out after dark only not to the same place I put in, had to call someone to take me back to the truck. Some have been lost several days in there. You can get disoriented quickly after awhile all of the Cypress look the same the key is knowing that even in the swamp the water flows slightly and always in the same direction...Lesson learned.
