I have plans to head up to my friends cabin in north central PA this November for black bear hunting and then for whitetail. I personally don't hunt, I occupy my time with other things. It's a nice remote area, plenty of things to do.

We'll be gone for a week of bear, then back for Thanksgiving, and back up again for up to two weeks for deer.

Same for me. It gives me a chance to play in the woods. Bush craft, fire starting and cooking.

I got back last night from my hunt. I didn't see a bear and in retrospect that may have been a good thing. I think I found a den. It was a little spooky going up to it but, Y'all needed those pics! I felt like a Vietnam tunnel rat and didn't know what to expect. However, instead of a .45 and a flashlight, I was holding a camera w/ a flash. ( I have another closer picture but I couldn't open it. In it you could see into the tunnel up to the point it turned around a tree root).

Here's a picture of what a .50 muzzle loader with a round ball does to a 20 lb propane tank at 123 yards. I just pulled a beef brisket from the freezer and am planning on doing a little smoking. Then grill some corn on the cob and have baked potatoes. Who needs a bear?

Not sure about the bear, but I could use a beer right about now.

You may have a hard time grillin', with all those holes in your propane tank.
Just sayin'.:innocent:

Wouldn't be so bad if the wife wasn't naggin' me to go do some Farrier work on the Big Guy! He likes to strike at me if I take too long! So if I am not on here tonight you'll know I have been squashed and rendered to a grease spot at the hitching post! Have to psych myself up to do it!

I get the wife naggin' part. My wife gave me orders this morning that I have to buy a gun safe. Huh? Uh, okay (cool).
