If the clowns in oure area that forcast the weather are right tropical storm Danny shoud hit Nantucket Island on saturday as a cat 1 hurricane. Not having a chart in front of me, Nantucket is about 20 nautical miles from me.This should make an interesting weekend for both Ken and I.

Yeah, just hearing about this storm now, it looks like it may come into Atlantic Canada this time as well. Where I live, we did not even get rain out of Bill, but looks like Danny may give us a bit more here in NB. Could get interesting.
Is it just me or is Danny sort of mamby pamby name for a hurricane? Wouldn't a routy touty name like Rocko or Killer or Scar Face sound more ominous?
"Honey, hurricane Danny is supposed to make landfall tonight."
"Oh, thanks. I'll back the car out so it can get a bath."

I heard on the radio, earlier that we should feel the affects of Danny, Friday night. They are saying 1 to 2 inches of rain, and wind gusting up to 20 mph. Heck....that ain't even a good thunderstorm!
Now Ken and Stargazer.....you guys may need to hold on to something. It's looking like you stand a chance of seeing some real weather.
*As a side note...why do they call it "Friday night"? Why not Frinight?*

I'm all set on my end. I've got something to hold. Thinking maybe I oughta' stop at Victoria's Secret and get her something special for that occasion. :innocent:

You spend alot of time pondering things like that, don't you? :sneaky2:

Ken, I like youre thinking. But what if the winds are too strong and IT gets ripped off? Oh heck I don't want to even think about that..

Sure is..Looking like its just going to be another rainy weekend.I think this is why the people in this area could get themselves in trouble.Yes were getting the storm, No were not getting the storm.Just adds more to to the "It doesnt happen here" mentality.

That sounds about right if you talk to people about what they think the odds are of a hurricane hitting us.They are the same that will ***** when the lines at the grocery store are longer than the malls during Christmas and the shelves are bare.I wonder how many people have a manual can opener? We dont own an electric one and always get ribbed on how much more convienent an electric one is.Me, I dont want to open a can in a power outage with a hack saw and screw driver.
Electric can opener? Well I swan.

Well good or bad Danny fizzled out.We got some heavy rain for a while.Five inches of it, and my basement now looks like a pool in places.I wish I could meet the clown that put my sump pump in one of the highest spots posiable because its bone dry.
The wife and I took a drive to East Beach in Westport and the waves were pathetic at best. There were two places along the way where water was flowing over the road like a river. At one crossing the water was half way up my Jeeps tires. We passed a BMW that was stopped in the clear stretch between the two of these rivers.I figure he is still there waiting for the water to drop before trying to cross them.
