The article mentions "without a compass or GPS anymore".

Choose the compass first, GPS as your backup if you have one.

Wow, it is such a relief to me to know that somebody is paying these guys to get people to go walk around just so they can prove something like that. Sure glad that money didn't go to waste, yep, mm-hmmm, good job people.

Hey didn't you just post a thread on this walking in circles stuff this morning RIcky? Maybe the two threads will wander around until they bump into each other. I can understand you walking around in circles, you gotta turn alllll the way around to see anything that might be behind you. Don't wag your tail you'll spin until your dizzy trying to figure out what's going on.

Didn't need a university study for this one.

When I was undergoing land nav training, an old NCO (well he was old to me then) told me there are a few reasons for this to happen, e.g. your body (one leg longer than the other, limp, ruck load not centered, etc.) and terrain.
