This has probably been done here but here is what I made a couple of years ago. I was running a big Fiber Optics Project for the local School District and we had a bunch of spools left over. I took one home and used it for cutting up bbq meat. I was thinking of what I could do with these. When I was younger I remebered seeing one made nto a chair. So I used the spool and left over plnks from when I built my fence. Here are the results. Its been outside for about two years.

I would definatley patent it! heck yeah you can roll out of the chair to go stand by the fire. It is exactly what I need around here!

Add a weed eater motor and an axle!

Nice work.
I might change it slightly, mount an axle so it would be easier for the wife to push me closer to the fire. Mmmm better include a brake system just in case :).

I've cussed those things so many times. I've loaded 'em on 70's, D9s, Telsta, Polecats. I even fished one out of a creek after it got washed away over a week-end. But I have to tell you, the chair and the dog houses are two things I've never seen done with 'em. Pretty cool and I hate the blessed things.

No offense but I don't want to even think about those reels anymore. I hatem with a passion. Never seen chairs before but everything us Rednecks could do with them we did, even sold a few. Favorite use always was cut a tree, trim the stump to go in the hole, shim if necessary and use as a table.:smash::smash::smash:

We used to knock off both ends and use the holes to pitch washers. We could drop them out on a black topped drive where our trucks parked and you didn't have to worry about chasing washers. They would hit the wood and stop. Assuming you hit the wood, of course.
