For the guy that’s wants a lot of verity and does mind a single shot, this might be an option.
I started out with a H&R Handi Rifle in .243, they added .270, .45/.70, .50 cal muzzle loader.
To this I added all the shot gun barrels, from .410 to 12 ga.
I did this as a project, as I ended up with 10 guns for about $700 bucks.

Did buy a .223 Handi Rifle so as to have another "weapon platform".

Also did notice that it take a little looking on the H&R/NEF web site to fine the program now.???? But it's still there. Prices are up a little.

That is a pretty spiffy idea. for a relatively small amount of money
you can be ready for most anything. I knew about the platform, but never did think it through like you did. And my wife says "THANKS ALOT" , I am not sure, but I think she was being sarcastic :)

You can do the same with the TC Encore series. I've done the same thing with my old TC, Thompson Center Rifle.

Yes you can, BUT for the price of just one TC barrel, you can get 3 or 4 H&R barrels.
Sadly it seems that there are several cal. the are being discontinued.
They no longer offer the .35 Whelen, and I see that the .204 Ruger bull barrel is also discontinued.
Your choice.

True but the TC custom shop will build most anything you desire! I just wish they still did TCR barrels
