So, O.K. saw your post on the rifle with para-cord sling, decided that I haven't done much "crafting" (DW's term), lately, so............

I ordered up some 550 cord from Sportsman Guide, (buy quite a bit of stuff from them, gotta watch prices, though).
DW says, "if your gonna send in an order, order the cammo crib set you showed me, the other day."(gonna be a Papaw, soon),

Now my order was about double the cost, and to get to use my $5.00 coupon, needed to order $99 bucks worth of stuff, I added a 3-pak of fire starters, flint stick and steel ('bout $15.00 bucks.)

O.K. went down to my shop in the basement, (raining outside) took my lap top, to use the instructions, and started in.

In retrospect I shoulda started with a key fob or something short, anyway I like instant gratification, but I digress.....

Got the starting knot right, (decided on a the cobra stitch), I think I screwed around for about 45 min trying to get the next one started. (had to sign up on the DIY site to get the pic's to enlarge so I could see what is going on).

Finally got going, but it seems to that my brain only works for about 10 min. at a time, so would have to go back and look hard at the pic's again, then keep going. So every once in a while, I would stop and get a beer. (medicinal purposes only, mind you)

DW stopped down every once in a while to learn new cuss words and laugh at me, she was a super macrame person, and asked me if I wanted any help.
I declined, as I wouldn't learn it my self, and the U-tube video that I also was watching show a 9-10 year old girl, just whipping out cobra stitches like crazy.
So, I mean, how hard can this be?

Bottom line is that it will be too long, I think, maybe double it up?, but is progressing well.
And the loop determines the length of the project, (missed this part in the DIY destruction's).

And for anyone that is gonna rip it out to use for a survival tie cord later, is nuts after all that work, I die first.
Anyway thanks for the inspiration

O.K. Got the cobra stitch figured out, finished up my first sling.
Came out pretty good, never make a living doing it, but what the heck, was fun.

What the instructions really didn't pound in at least to me was the the length of the finished product is determined by the length of the loop.

Kinda narrow, gonna go for the double wide, or maybe even the triple wide nest time.
Thanks again, for the insperation.
