I have been looking into buying a drawknife but I dont want to spend to much money. I have decided between a 9 inch straight one or a 5 inch flexible bladed fexcut. They are around the same price. I just want an all purpose drawknife for anything from bows, to spindes, basket splints, and just an easier way to take off more wood on bigger pieces of wood. WHich one do you think is better?
Is $25 too much? Mora makes two smaller ones. Blades are in the 4 inch length. You'd have to find someone that sells them. I've picked up a few at garage sales. Or you might try Craigslist.com for your area.

No, The other to are 30-40 dollars, I just feel like 4 inches is almost too small.

Your part of the country like mine should have plenty of good used stiff, straight blade knives which is the best with about a 10" blade. I never used anything but, and it's older than me, about 1920s vintage. Flea markets & yard sales are good.
