wich is better for long term survival the ww2 "rubber"poncho or the "new" ripstop nylon one?

In this part of the world ( hot damm hot) the rubber can stick together and come away from the backing material.
Rip stop has to be lighter. I suppose if it is cold where you are the rubber could provide some insulation.

Gor tex Treated nylon, IMO rubber is negatively effected by extreme weather

I always thought those old army rubber ponchos to be bulky and heavy
