Hi, my name's MM and I am a penny-pincher.
(crowd) Hi, MM!
Today I bought a pair of brand new hiking boots for $8. Yes, you read that right. $8
I also realized that I could buy the telescopic stablizing jacks for my travel trailer cheaper locally than online. Not only that, but if I got a Camping World membership, it would give me a Good Sam's membership for only $2, would give me $10 off the price of the jacks, and would give me a $10 coupon (used toward the price of the jacks). So basically, I paid the same price for the jacks as I would have anyway, but came out with a membership to Camping World (which we will use all the time) and Good Sam's for nothin'.
Yes, I am a miser and I am proud of it!

New calculator, huh? Anniversary gift?
Anniversary present. My wife made me get rid of the slide rule and pocket protector.

The abacus. We were using one when word came that Kennedy had been assassinated.

He fibbed. Ain't never voted for any of 'em.
On a completely different non-political note, I was a heckuva' swimmer when I was younger, and I tried to swim from Chappaquidick to Edgartown a few times. Near where the Ferry crosses. Current was so strong I just ended up in the harbor everytime. And I was sober. My back was just fine, too. :innocent:

I do recall a rumour that a prominent local fella tried to give a young lady swimming lessons there some time back.
