Many of the advances in technology that we enjoy today have come through the advances made in the space program. We all understand how important personal hygiene is at all times, but especially in times of survival. Could this be the the bugout bag underwear of the future? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/science/article6735088.ece Depends I suppose.

Pffft......Two words...
..RABBIT FUR!:innocent:
(Ya see, Rick, there's this old joke about a bear and a rabbit...)
Crash,
You should send them to QC for evaluation! See if they have them in pink, he'll love 'em....
What is underwear???? :innocent:
Butt (get it, butt?) c'mon. If you're gonna' be wearing them for a month, the best color you could buy would be brown. Think about it. :sneaky2:
And Cowboy? Crash is the Assistant Director of the Wilderness Surival Forums Quality Control Department. Get with the program here, will ya? Ya' gotta' know who's who around here or you'll never get anywhere in life, son. :innocent:
BTW - For cold weather, I prefer Mountain Hardware or Marmot.
You should send them to QC for evaluation!
What would QC want with underwear that had been worn for a month? That's nasty!
BTW - For cold weather, I prefer Mountain Hardware or Marmot.
I just hope you're good friends with the marmot 'cause if it bites......well......
Personally, I prefer a thong. I've got a picture around here somewhere if I can just find it.........

Those of you who have been in jungle enviroment and have had to go "combat" (sans undies) to prevent chaffing and all the other nasties that affect you in that region are more aware of the problem then he rest. I have already gone Hi-Tech in the undies department for my BOB! There is only sooo much room in a BOB and the hi-tech undies does 2 things for you.
1: wicks away moisture keeping you cool dry and fungus free (the hi-tech also have an antifungal built in)
2: allows me to rinse/wash out a pair and it will dry very quickly while hung on the outside of my pack
Hung on the outside of your pack? Then you're......OH!......Never mind.

Native Dude - it's those silk things you wear when it gets real cold.
Around 1800 or so they were referred to as "Nether garments".

Why, at 6:00 P.M. do they do that?
We were in Wal Mart this afternoon and the lady walking in front of us had a problem like that. I didn't realize it was 6:00, though. Either that or she was diggin' for gold. I almost collapsed in the floor from laughing. Step, step, dig, dig, step, step, dig, dig........

Maybe she had read Tonster's thread about searching for gold and thought she'd give it a try.

Kindly allow me to clear up a few lingering misconceptions some of you may have.
Sarge, Rick, and Crash are simple Moderators. Yes, they are "simple." Think of them as glorified housekeepers. They clean up little messes here and there, they wash spammers off of your computer screen........ They do little insignificant things like that.
By contrast, the Quality Control Department performs much more significant tasks. First and foremost, we protect all members from a myriad of threats that most cannot comprehend. The Quality Control Department serves at a much higher level in every respect. WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS! :)
