I spent some time today,practicing making fire with a flint & steel. I put extra pressure on myself by trying going from spark to fire in 30 seconds or less. I used dryer lint, dried pine needles, straw and fatwood as tinder.
The dryer lint was the easiest followed by the dried pine needles. The straw was a little harder but I got fire. The fatwood was the hardest of all but, I finally got it going. I did this in around 3 hours. It was a good way to kill some time plus I had fun doing it.
