We went camping again in our camper this weekend. Did some hiking and did a river (well a creek) crossing. It was flowing rather quick but we made it across twice. On a survival note I fell while crossing and hit my shin pretty hard on a rock. Have a nice bruise and swelled up quit a bit. It was a very wet time, rained most of the evening and all night long. Our dog got sick so we had to cut it short. But still a good time.

Lesson is....be very cautious while crossing any flowing water. Also have dry clothes....which we did. :)

Damn! I gonna' go out right now and buy my sweetie a blue tarp!

Does your wife have any friends who would be interested in meeting Hope?

Looks like a good time. Thanks for letting us have a look. Just a note on crossing the creek. The moving water and the slippery bottom can (as you learned) make the crossing more difficult. If you are with somebody, llinking arms and crossing together will give you more stability. Alone - a hiking staff is very helpful.

Keep in mind this advice is coming from a guy that took a header into the springs with his camera around his neck......(sigh) - sure do miss that camera.

Well... you see we were linked and well, she fell then I fell. So my theory is don't link arms with someone who is clumsy. :) But seriously very good tip and we faced upstream as we crossed as well. It was very cold and I mean very COLD!!!

Yes blue tarps make a world of difference. Not sure if my wifes friends would like it that rough. They are all ver girly....:)

Where's the outhouse door? It's becoming an epidemic. The latest fad. Outhouse door manufacturers will go bottom up at this rate. This crap has got to stop!

Nice pics! Glad you had a great time. Dry bags are wonderful things....

Rick, just push the pins out of the hinges on your wifes bathroom door, and set the door in the garage. Tell her everyone is doing it........if she does not fall for that, tell her it will cure the recession, and help the space program. NOTE: She may but your Teddy Bear, pillow and Bankie in the garage, and advise where you'll be sleeping.

None of that bothers me. My worry is where she would put the hinge pins. That would bother me.
