Was sitting down watching tv, and decided to pull out the leather scraps, an old knife of mine, my hunting knife, and some thread and needle, along with my soldering iron. All my leather tools have been sold or lost, and now that I'm picking my leather back up I'm improvising.

Just needed a small simple sheath. That's what I got. For maybe a half hour's work from start to finish, I'm happy enough with it.

I'll get some pictures up as soon as I either figure out what's wrong with the webcam, or the girlfriend comes home and shows me where the digital camera's hibernating this year.

So finally got the webcam back up. The digital is apparently hibernating somewhere in a cave in the house we can't find. Either way, here's the pics of my scrap leather one hour of work sheath. Next project is to put a new handle on it.

Hey Crash, I'm really liking that denim handle you used in your "New knife project" thread. Any pointers on it? I've always used either hardwood, bone, or leather wrap. The composite handle bit is a new one to me.

Not really. I went through a pretty thorough step by step in that thread. If you have any questions, let me know - happy to help if I can.

I've already come to the conclusion that this $5 soldering iron is one of the most useful things I carry with me regularly. Now I'm just over-prooving the point. I had some more time on my hands, and for the time being I'm at a standstill on the denim scale handle for the knife. So, for now, I'm turning my attention back to the sheath.
