Alongside of your standard library collections of Tom Brown and Mors Kochanski, I recommend stocking up on the free information cataloged across the internet. PDF book previews on amazon.com also come packed with knowledge you can readily incorporate into your next outing. I for one am trying my hand at basket making :) Here are some sites that survived my many "manage bookmarks" cleansings:

Saunders, Charles F. "Useful Wild Plants of The United States and Canada." 1920. Available online at <http://www.swsbm.com/ManualsOther/UsefulPlants/Useful_Plants.html>.

A great old book from the near-pioneer days. Saunders catalogs edible and useful plants in this 230-odd page book.

"Wilderness Survival, Wilderness Mind." Wildwood Survival. 2007. <http://wildwoodsurvival.com/index.html>.

Handy site that teaches the basics as well as stuff such as hunting, tanning, and various bushcraft advanced skills (weaving, flint napping, etc)

Nyerges, Christopher. "How to Survive Anywhere." Stackpole Books. 2007. Limited preview available online at <http://books.google.com/books?id=bzvgEkO6sw4C&printsec=frontcover&dq=how+to+survive+anywhere&output=html>.

Good all-around information. I'm currently using this as a rudimentary background to weaving from natural cordage... haven't looked at many of the other parts in depth.
