Okay, a confidential poll here:

How many rounds of ammo (all types - combined) do you keep on hand?

crashdive123
07-16-2009, 07:38 PM
I think you forgot the poll part. Would you like me to add one?

Rick
07-16-2009, 07:38 PM
Not as many as I'd like but a lot more than my wife wants me to.

As long as it is confidential, I always have ****** in the cabinet, then I have ***** stashed in the ****** and then finally there is the secret cache buried near the *****

So in total I have *****

Confidentially of course.

Just finished it. Pay attention, will ya'? You're probably preoccupied with your disdain for squirrels.

Something like this one that you wore yesterday? :innocent:

More like this one. Now - I just need to catch and skin four more and should have enough. Thanks for the tips by the way - I found that putting peanuts on my window sill makes attracting them so much easier.

Actually, I'd really enjoy seeing a picture of you wearing one of those.

Are we counting .22lr?

It's you're ammunition - count what you want.

I only need one round "all types" for each occasion, and prepared for a few

Coot - So far we've confirmed missing weapons, knives and ammo. Of course the knife came back from the dark side so it's just weapons and ammo. Some place in the cabin is a well fortified and equipped bunker. I would start being very careful on your nightly patrols to the bathroom. If you trip a flare I suggest you kiss the carpet.....quickly....or as quickly as men can at our age.

If he "trips a flare" he probably won't have to worry about going to the bathroom. :cool2:

So what are you trying to surmise from this poll? And how many people do you think actually told you the truth?

Ken
07-17-2009, 11:34 AM
Just curiosity, Sarky. Just wondering how we've all chosen to prepare, especially considering the ammo shortages today. It struck me yesterday for the first time - my favorite gun shop was out of a number of calibers of ammo, some back-ordered for months. First time I ever saw that at that shop.

Question: Why would anyone not tell the truth when responding to a confidential poll?

Sarge47

Question: Why would anyone not tell the truth when responding to a confidential poll?Because it's no else's buisness. Just how confidential do you think these polls are? :cool2:

Ken

Well, Sarge, maybe the Mods can see the results and the identities of those who've responded, but the members and the public can't. Isn't this the whole purpose for having "public" and "private" polls?

As far as this question being nobody's business, can't you say that about almost everything posted here? How many of us post about the firearms we own, the ammo we've just bought, who has purchased what recently (What have you done this week to prepare?), supplies we have on hand, the preparations we've made.........? We can even discern a great amount about each other's personalities and location from our posts.

If anyone doesn't want to answer a question, it's quite simple. Don't answer.

If I wanted to keep everything in my life confidential, I would have remained a lurker and never have become a member to begin with. Maybe I'm just not that cautious - or that paranoid.

I wonder how much ammo could be coached out, if the price tripled, say the cheapest 9MM ammo was $100.00 per box. At some point the price needs to go up a lot on ammo.

The price of ammo today is about 4X's what it was in 1957, maybe 5X's; However the price of Gasoline in 1957 was 16.9 cents. and diesel was 1/2 of that, or around 8.9 cents per gallon. GOLD was $32.00 per oz. now it is $932.00 per oz.

The good news is Wally World is stocking .22lr again. At least around here. They still don't have much of anything else but I was in three yesterday and all of them had 22lr, 22 mag and 22 bird shot on the shelf. I haven't seen that in months.

Just to be clear - the moderators cannot see how individuals vote on the private polls. All we can see are the results like everybody else.

Thanks for clearing that up, Crash!

I was petrified that the Moderators would somehow learn that I have 7,280 (over 4,000 are .22) rounds in stock.

Now that I know my secret is safe, I’ll be able to sleep MUCH better tonight!

Unless you need some .22lr, I'd leave Kens place alone.
Of the 3,280 rounds that are not .22lr, I think he is counting 3,200 rocks in his yard, as rounds for his slingshot!:innocent:

Remember;

It's you're ammunition - count what you want.

Heh, heh, heh. Slingshots are ILLEGAL in Mass - rocks will probably be illegal here soon as well; 7.62, .9mm, .40 cal, .308 and 12 gauge are still legal.

I have raided my local Wally World (all ten of them). Although I will probably pick up some more this weekend from Georgia Arms at the gun show, what I have now most people would probably call sufficient.

Wally doesn't have anything, and I mean zip. If I raided them I would have more rounds in my 45 than they have of everything. I am getting close to the one round in the shirt pocket, empty gun. I feel like I live in Mayberry.

I must respectfully disagree. Hope has nothing to do with it (no, not the guy). I know I have more than I will need. Remember, it's all about being prepared, not hoping you are.
