Hi Folks,

Newbe here on this forum. What do you consider your most important firearm? Mine would be my little old Chinese SKS rifle. I love the sights and I can hit a 6" gong at 100 yards. I know there are many who hate SKS's but I like them.

YMMV
Kevin

Hey Gunner - Hmmmmm. My go to gun? While I'm thinking on it, why not go to the Introduction Section and tell us a bit about yourself. Thanks. http://www.wilderness-survival.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=14

I am a double barrel 12 gauge guy. Have no real need to "reach out and touch someone". Just one guys preference

I'm going to interpret this to mean, "gun I carry the most often."

In that case, my "go to" gun is my Kahr PM45.

I grew up with a pump shotgun. I'm fairly new to most guns, but seem to have always had an 870 Rem. I'm so familiar with it, that I'd have to call it my "go to" gun. (For now, anyway.)

(I'm a firm believer, that a gun is only as good as your ability to use it.)

I always liked the 7.62x39 round and the SKS is second only to the AK which is without a doubt one of the most proven rifles on earth. I have a China version with the Tapco T-6 stock and a stack of 30 rounders. With FMJ 124's at 25 yds I can penetrate 1/4 steel that is stationary but I still love my 'ole Trapper '94!

Depends on the threat or the mood right now it is a Colt .38 Special.

Gonna have to narrow it down to what room I'm in. Which vehicle, car, Jeep, ATV. If I am walking or even out in the workshop. And just think I still have a Beretta I can't find. In other words I'm like most folks who don't want to walk far for one.

I live in a country that is run by what looks good in the news as opposed to a nation governed by common sense. I can't own an AK47, I can't carry a handgun and the magazine of my SKS has to be pinned to 5 rounds.

The reason I chose the SKS is that with a folding stock it is easy to sling across your back and it doesn't get in the way. I would love to pack a handgun but the average sheeple can't understand the concept that a man or woman has the right to protect themselves. Sorry for the mini rant:-)

I've got options in this but if I had to fight with what I had on hand right now it would be the Glock (9mm), AK, and 870. Mac

With the thicker barrel, etc, that they went to in '08, the mini-14 shoots a lot better than most people give them credit for. I love mine.

I love my WASR-10 but for me distance is more comforting than rate of fire,so i'll say my ruger .243 with redfield scope,i'm pretty good out to around 600 yards or so,around here you dont get many shots even that far out though.
